Health and Safety crosses paths with Union Learning

Had a great day on Monday!

I was the tech guy for the day at our annual "Wylfa Safety Reps Anglesey Safety conference".

We had speakers from all over Anglesey and North Wales but most pleasingly our apprentices did a presentation about an old steam driven fire engine they renovated, describing  all the learning and safety they applied to the task.

an interesting quote!

It is not the critic who counts. Not the man who points out how the strong man stumbled or where the doer of deeds could have done better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena; whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs and comes short again and again; who knows the great enthusiasms, the great devotions and spends himself in a worthy course; who at best, knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who, at worst, if he fails, at least fails whilst daring greatly; so that his place shall never be with those cold and timid souls who know neither victory or defeat.

Keep chipping away

Nothing is achieved in a day, you got to keep on at it. I came back to work this week and saw a mountain of work and now it's a hill, it's easy to get bogged down with what's before you, focus on the important stuff work through it, snatch at opportunities and half chances see where it takes you.
I threw the dice this morning and emailed my company HR manager to tell him all about lifelong learning at Wylfa, got a terrific response and he asked me if I'm interested in getting involved in a team looking at embedding essential skills across the company.
Another little step : )
