The elusive Dry stone wall course.

I have been trying to put together a course since last year!
After lots of hurdles and risk assessment in hand I thought we are winning...but.....
Today I tried to confirm the details and the date with the tutor as agreed, he doesn't use his mobile so I used his wife who works on the same site as me as the main contact.Oh no his wife has gone on a girly week to Spain : ( .
I spoke the college and they said they didn't have his number either.
The course is on Saturday and I'm away from work the rest of the week.

Sometimes a being ULR isn't easy!

Change is the only constant?

12 Secrets to Move Beyond Resistance to Change in Your Life

In life, one thing is constant. Change is going to happen! Nothing ever stays the same.
The process of change in our lives can lead us toward growth and fulfillment, if we learn how to harness this unyielding force. In this article you'll discover the 12 secrets to move beyond your resistance to change, to create positive change in your life.

1st Secret: Recognize that things Change
You can't avoid change. You can't ignore change. You can't prevent change. Even if you do nothing, life will still change. Nothing is forever; neither the good, nor the bad. Accept that things change and you will avoid a lot of frustration.

2nd Secret: Seek growth rather than change
Growth always leads to positive change in our lives. Growth is the foundation for evolution and challenges you to become more in a specific area of your life, as you move from the old to embrace the new. Growth always generates change, but change is not always growth. Growth is about evolving and becoming more of who you are meant to be.

3rd Secret: Change the way you Think
Change starts with a change of mind. If there is something that you want to change in your life, start by changing your thoughts about want it is that you want to change. In changing the way you think about something, you immediately change your perception and consequently the way you feel about it. When you change the way you feel about something, you change your behavior and therefore your results.

4th Secret: Change your emotions
Our emotions provide our internal motivation. Our emotions need to change before genuine change can occur within you. You can change aspects of your physical form like a new haircut, wardrobe, house, etc. but without involving your emotions, the change will be short lived. However, when you change on the emotional level (in other words start inside out) change becomes effortless, growth is produced and you will begin to change automatically.

5th Secret: Chaos!
This is the most powerful of all the secrets combined. It isn't change that you resist, it's your subconscious' attempt to avoid chaos that creates resistance.

Life can not be controlled, even if we try. It's natural to feel chaotic when you experience change in your life. Big changes produce lots of chaos; small changes produces a little. We can however influence the direction of change when we learn to let go of control, embrace chaos and learn to "dance" with the unpredictability of change. How you relate to chaos influences the outcome of change in your life; positive or negatively. Trust yourself and know that the chaos won't last forever.

6th secret: Focus on the Positive Results
How often do you think about what you don't want to happen in your life versus what you do want in your life? By focusing on what you don't want, that is exactly what you create. Why? Because you are focusing your efforts on the negative. That which you don't want in your life.
Instead, create a picture in your mind of how you will feel once you've created the positive changes in your life. Find a relaxed position, close your eyes and take in several deep breaths to help relax your body and focus your mind.

The reason why I say create a picture in your mind is because that is exactly how your brain works. Your brain think in pictures. By creating the correct picture in your mind of what it is that you want to achieve, your thoughts will support the changes you are making in your life.

7th secret: Take Action
Focus on taking one step at a time every day towards the change that you want to create in your life.

8th secret: Be Flexible
Sometimes you will move forward and other times a step or two backwards. Trust yourself. Developing an inner equilibrium is essential for being resilient in the midst of change. Trust that everything will work out. If you do take a step backwards, get up, rectify what you need to and move forward.

9th secret: Believe in yourself
A belief in yourself is one of the fundamental ingredients of success.

10th secret: Your Attitude determines your Altitude!
Your attitude affects everything in your life. How you respond to situations and experience them. However positive you may be, sometimes you will experience feeling negative. What you do with the negative feeling is what determines how you respond to the situation and how long you take to get over the negative feeling. You can despite feeling a bit down & a bit negative, choose not to allow it to dampen your positive attitude.

The fastest way to change from a negative to a positive attitude is to develop an attitude of gratitude. In other words being grateful for the things that you have in your life.

11th secret: Get out of your Comfort Zone
Being in your comfort zone, implies no changes in your life. Nothing that stretches you and forces you to become more and challenge yourself. It implies getting the same results as in the past.
So if you want to change, you need to be prepared to step out of your comfort zone, to experience discomfort and to stay there, in order to change.

12th secret: Healthy Mind & Healthy Body
Change, no matter how big or how small, requires a healthy mind and a healthy body. So look after yourself: eat regularly, learn healthy eating habits, learn to breathe correctly, exercise twice or three times a week, make time for relaxation and things you enjoy doing, like listening to music, reading, etc.

IN CONCLUSION:
Change is endless and constant. To thrive in life, we must be able to deal with change. As you implement these 12 secrets, you will end your resistance to change and harness the power of change to become the master of your life.

The saga of the dry stone wall building course

Since April 2010 I have been trying to arrange this course, Various tutors let me down.
One claimed his car had broken down twice and managed to get towed home at light speed to answer the phone!
I asked around and was given the name of a local person who was deemed reliable, then came the security vetting to work for the local college; that took 5 months......shhhh I think we are nearly there?

I just need the local College to provide the risk assessment for the local farm we are using to run the course, what could possibly go wrong?

Technology, does it fill a void or create one to fill.

http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/15414436#utm_campaign=unknown&utm_source=15414436&utm_medium=social

So far I'm sharing the frustration on the speed that technology advances, and now we are talking about the glue of reading and writing, interesting thoughts on the paradigm shift. Technology must fill the void that exists in it's own time and place. I get fascinating insights from my " silver surfer" relatives and my wife who had no interest whatsoever in technology but loves her iPhone and iPad, I pointed both groups to the many possibilities available with these devices but in the end it's their choice once given the opportunity to explore the possibilities.

Communicating to potential learners and Reps through company firewalls

I have joined a group working for Wales TUC to see how we can engage/learn and share information with Adult Learners but most companies see all the tools, Twitter etc as potential risks, anyone got some good tips?
